I think I must live on a different planet, because despite being a dog lover, I had no idea that pet weddings were so popular in the United States, and our British cousins also appear to have latched onto the concept of pet matrimony as well. The internet is a wonderful thing!

Must admit, I haven’t seen any yet in Australia, but I reckon Bondi Beach or Centennial Park would be a perfect spot for our four-legged friends to get hitched (get in quick though, before the council ranger nabs you)!

A recent high profile dog marriage was Pamela Anderson’s chihuahua, Luca, to her golden retriever, Star, on a beach in Malibu, California last summer. Borat apparently gate crashed that one!

Colorado Canines organized a mass wedding ceremony for Fidos at Aspen Grove Lifestyle Center earlier this year - with a quick round of speed dating for those previously unattached dogs - with the benefits going to charity.

178 pooch couples hooked up - we're not exactly sure what was planned for the honeymoon(s) and whether there was any carob wedding cake - but it looked a fun dogs day afternoon for all involved (even the MC - check the video). There must be something in the water up Aspen way (or perhaps its just the elevation).....
