OFFLINE

Thanks for taking the time out to explore MUTTS4US!

The inspiration for developing this online pet community came from the need to have all the information, contacts and support services for your best little friend online.

DORA SAYS: GIMME A KISS DAD, OK!

Issues and solutions ranging from local registration and microchipping requirements, finding local vets at odd hours, off-leash exercise times at local parks, how to find pet friendly accommodation, how and where to take your pooch with you on family holidays, how to help your dog overcome car sickness and where to reward them with toys, clothes and treats.

We also wanted to create a pet friendly place where we can express the love and companionship we get from owning dogs and to share the way they enrich our lives each and every day.

DORA SAYS: THANKS DAD - THIS IS YUMMY, YOU CAN HAVE THE REST BACK IN A FEW MINUTES OK?

MUTTS4US is a great place to network with thousands of other pet owners, exchange advice, experiences, adventures, stories and tips on dog ownership, share photos of your dog, and to learn about dog events and services in your community.

We hope that you enjoy partnering with us to create a vibrant online dog community for your neighbourhood. Click here to join – its FREE!

Anyway, Dora has a few comments too, so since she’s the Top Dog and Boss Mutt around here, I’ll pass over to her:

When I was adopted by my new owners, they found it really hard to understand me. Things like why:

  • I like some quiet time sometimes hiding under the sofa
  • I like to lick faces and feet
  • I don’t like going to the vet
  • Bathtime isn't my favourite activity
  • I like to scoot
  • I try to hang my head out of the car’s windows
  • I like to curl up with them on the bed
  • I roll over a lot and like my tummy tickled
  • I get funky breath sometimes
  • I take them for a walk regularly
  • I like to poop in the most inappropriate places

Just for the record, I didn’t understand them either.

This website isn’t designed to give them ALL the answers, but it might go someway to explaining the basics – after all, all dogs are individuals!

In closing, a few random thoughts from the Boss Mutt:

  • My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Separation from you will be painful for me.
  • Even though I don’t really understand what you say, please talk to me and give me lots of attention. Your loving tone and gentle pats will give me strength. I need love just like you.
  • Please take me for walks and let me see the world like you. I like new places, meeting new people and furry four legged friends.
  • Please don’t hit me, lock me up or leave me at home for too long. I don’t have any friends to hang out with, any work to distract me or shopping trips to look forward to – I have only you and the secure home you provide me.
  • Please be consistent – as a pack member I need to know where I stand.
  • I need time out too sometimes, so I hide and reflect. It’s not that I don’t love you, I just have things on my mind. Maybe its just Dad singing karaoke (badly).
  • I have a long memory, so however you treat me, I will always remember.

Hope you enjoy it, and thanks for sharing the puppy love!
